Learning & Development Manager

What you will do: The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of employee and leadership development, program management, and compliance & coordination for North Division (NDIV) L&D program(s) in alignment with the North Division priorities and Airgas Corporate L&D strategies. The L&D Manager actively partners withHR leadership (HRD, HRVP, HRM), Talent Management (TM), the business, and other L&D Managers and Coordinator, in identifying the L&D needs of the organization aligned with the business strategy.  This position also engages in the design, development of the workforce, delivery and evaluation of L&D solutions with internal resources and external vendors where appropriate.      Your responsibilities: Creates and implements annual L&D plans within the NDIV. Serves as a liaison between the regions, division, and Corporate Airgas L&D team communicating any changes to the business and aligning L&D materials where appropriate. Conducts needs assessments working with key HR and business stakeholders to understand L&D requirements. Develops learning objectives and creates content to support objectives through challenging assignments, developmental relationships, and coursework and training (70-20-10). Provides performance development and consulting services with HR to the business.  Develops tools for Individual Development Plans (IDP's) and coaches managers on their use. Responsible for partnering with the L&D Coordinator to initiate associate training through Airgas University, ensuring it reflects both company-wide and position-specific curriculum for operations and non-operations based positions as well as management and non-management.  Provides input and guidance to L&D Coordinator to facilitate position specific curriculumin conjunction with the associate's manager. Closely partners with people leaders and HR leadership to ensure onboarding success for new associates, as well as people leaders engagement and responsibility in L&D programs (dev. Programs, immersion, etc.). Facilitates and/or program manages a broad range of development programs and topics including but not limited to supervisor/ leadership development, operations development, customer service, new employee orientation, on the job training (OJT), product training, and systems training. Leads external scan of new and innovative programs across the Company and/or on the market meeting a specific business need or gap. Acts as back-up to L&D Coordinator for purposes of assigning, tracking and reporting on Corporate, Division and/or Region-specific training (i.e. Code of Ethics, Workplace Harassment).  This may include creating courses/programs centered on talent and leadership development to include the development of interactive e-learning courses to support learning objectives. Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.    Qualifications   What you will need: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development/ Behavior, Business or related field. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted. A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development initiatives and programs to include experience in the creation of talent and leadership development curriculum. Demonstrated knowledge in distance/blended learning techniques including needs assessment; development and design of  distance learning training materials; training delivery, platform skills, and follow-up assessment techniques. Knowledge of Learning & Development (L&D) technology tools to improve customer and personal productivity. Knowledge of adult learning theory and evaluation techniques including needs assessment; development and design of  training materials; training delivery, platform skills, and follow-up assessment techniques. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills including the ability to effectively present and discuss information and respond to questions from employees and managers. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and / or Google applications including Gmail, Sheets, Docs and Slides. Frequent intra/inter regional and divisional travel. Occasional overnight travel. Must have reliable, appropriate transportation. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
